2014 Management of Sickle Cell Disease Conference
Purpose and Target
This conference is designed for provider, nurses, health care professionals, educators, social workers, parents, students and the community at large. The purpose of this educational activity is to strengthen participants’ knowledge base about sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait through lecture, discussion and sharing of current and future treatment regimen. This conference averages 150+ attendees each year.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify current evidence based practices to improve care of individuals with sickle cell
- Discuss complications related to sickle cell disease
- Explain resources available to individuals with sickle cell
- Understand the importance of collaborative efforts across healthcare discipline
